The battle for survival just started for the FBC – Murphy basketball team when they masterfully dumped the Dela Pena Marikina Sunday Club represented by Pinky Pie with the final score of 62 – 55. Playing Coach Omar Basanez shuffled his ward seeing his teams handicap with the absence of their mainstays , John Sicuya, Bert Magwale and his brother Owen Basanez. Adapting the mantra of “behind every difficulty I saw a lot opportunity” , Coach Omar fielded a very balance first and second five respectively. Engr. Philip Paz accepted the challenge by stepping up with a career high 17 points and 5 caroms for the game. PPY’s Ben Buenaventura wasted so many opportunity to tie the game in the free throw line. But the highlight of the game was the defensive gem MUR put in the closing minutes of the game covering every chance the PPY attempted all in the top notch thinking of their playing coach Omar Basanez.

The coming Saturday game against the well organized Team Don Jose is a sure close game, DJS were upset by EGS.
