Quezon City, QC-Capitol, QC-Central,  QC-Silangan, Tandang Sora and South Triangle chapters as they converged in one of the coziest bowling venue in the city at Paeng’s Eastwood Bowl  Center, Citywalk Mall Eastwood City Libis Quezon City last May 23, 2017. The inter-color bowling fun games have netted six teams… Team Orange produced the highest tenpin score and awarded as Champion and other five teams, Lavender, Yellow, Pastel Blue, Red and Gray. Individual honors were also given to four strong and consistent bowlers of the night. Major sponsor representative Ms. Jojie D. Quintos led the awarding of cash prices to the winners and minor tokens as well to those who’ve able to hit two consecutive strikes and spare respectively. Fenestram Corporation represented by Ms Sheena Maningas ,  Buildrite Construction Chemicals, MSA Enterprises and Leona Design Builders representatives made themselves available despite that evening’s horrendous traffic.

District  A3 Director  Ar Cecile Cayman-Gamana and Chapter Presidents Maria Carla Epino, fuap of  QC Chapter who was also the program manager, Randel Leona of QC Capitol, Cesar Aris of QC Silangan, Joana Lisa Dunca of Tandang Sora, Joselito Francisco of QC Central and Arnold Sebastian of South Triangle were in full force with their corresponding bowling players both of amateur and newbies with the game.

The event was so intense that it run for almost five hours to determine the individual honors that really took the best from each of the participants while if there could be an award for the most consistent canal and slowest bowling roll, it is a  hands down am sure had been awarded to Ar. Rey, besides it’s a bowl of fun!
While everyone bowled just for fun, some strike ten bottles and got score best for golf. – Paquito

Warriors Sweep the Spurs heading to the NBA Finals for the Third Time!

The NBA fever is heating up as the bold predictions of basketball gurus and fans are slowly taking shape ! We can never be excited with the recent win of the Boston Celtics versus the defending NBA champs, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Now that the Golden State Warriors have flexed its muscle via multiple sweep that started with the Portland Trailblazers where Damian Lillard predicted a bold 4-2 victory in favor to them then followed by four to nothing western semifinals game with the Utah Jazz that seen its future in Gordon Hayward who was the only Jazz player to put up good numbers versus the Warriors defenders. And finally in the recently concluded western conference finals games against the San Antonio Spurs, Kevin Durant who’ve missed several games into the playoffs have made his presence felt by helping the Warriors trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green sweep the best of Texas area where most of the observers have expressed their opinions that..

“it would have been a different series should the Spurs leading scorer have not encountered that ungrateful ankle injury off a three point shot”

with Zaza Pachulia who in turn also got injured in the succeeding game and unable to play till the clincher.

The question now is , will the Warriors challenge the defending champion if ever the Cleveland Cavaliers close the series in their next two games , at home and at the TD Garden for Game 5. It is a different Warriors roster as compared to last year, gone were Andre Bogut, Harrison Barnes and Speights who are somehow part of the wrecking crews of Coach Steve Kerr.

Aside from KD as the major addition to the team, center Javale McGee provides not only the height and muscle inside the paint but his agility is nowhere near for a challenge versus any of the Eastern finalist team. Tristan Thompson is a little slower and Al Horford lacks the power to slow down McGee.

It’ll be a battle of torching the rims with consistent treys and free throws. Man for man the Warriors has a little edge in 1-2 position against the Cavs, but at the 3-4 it’s the other way around. We are about to see a battle of tenacity and sacrifices from both teams as these two have a score to settle way back two seasons. Though am not writing off the Celtics to score an upset with their depleted lineup, the way Boston guys have responded to the challenge of getting drown in the hole is remarkable. The big question is if Le Bron James will continue his poor performance in Game 3 or he’ll come with guns blazing to finish off the Celtics in Game 5 ? That needs to be seen as we can never tell what adjustments are the Celtics and Coach Brad Stevens are cooking up in Cleveland in order to duplicate the path they’ve done with the Wizards.

Think about this, the supporting crews of the Cavaliers are mere audience to Kevin Love’s shooting clinic that they’ve forgot to manned the wing in its entirety that the Celtics were able to break lose and penetrate the paint with Kelly Olynyk scoring in silence off an outstanding performance versus the Wizards.

Boston played smarter than the Cavs with the way Coach Brad Steven handled the game in short Ty Lue was out-coached, period. What is clear right now is this … the Golden State Warriors are on their third trip to the NBA Finals waiting as if to defend the lost title not to regain it with the way the series have transpired in the west.

We let the Spurs go as the Celtics are showing it’s not luck in winning games in the east with the Cavaliers defending its land while the Dub nation are watching. – Paquito

Paquito Quote for the Day 36

With the way a man announces his excitement be it in fear or advantage, never do it in public for it might dictate two things in everyone’s eye… humility or arrogance. As the ongoing Eastern Conference Finals in the NBA 2017 Playoffs are halfway showing the separation of pretenders against contenders we cannot deny but accept the fact that some are gifted in many ways apart from their genetic valuable DNA but of skills each player did for himself to prove what he is capable of in bringing up the competition level game after game.

What We Do Know About Kawhi Leonard’s Ankle Injury, NBA Western Conference Finals 2017

Most of the social media links and posts are braided with the recent season remaining threatening ankle injury that cost the first game loss of the Western Conference Finals of the San Antonio Spurs from the Golden State Warriors. One of the argument was if the act were committed intentionally or not. And the other one is about the way game was won by the Golden State Warriors.

Kawhi Leonard’s injury started during the Western Conference Semifinals versus the Houston Rockets off a banking shot with James Harden, then in the recently concluded game 1 with the bench team mate foot and the Zaza Pachulia’s incidence where his landing left foot got in contact with the latter’s left foot. Spurs were up and in control until the said foul.  The San Antonio Spurs according to Spurs fans could’ve won the game easily with Kawhi Leonard on the floor but loss it with a single possession. That is according to them, but in my own point of view… I saw it very different.

First and foremost, the game is in a hostile turf with one of the loudest fans in the NBA and nowhere will the Warriors will just hand them the victory very easily. Second, it’s game 1 and both are reading and feeling the tenacity of each defense and offense that’ll purposely bring the x-factor and the winning combo and pacing of the western conference finals. Though the San Antonio Spurs have the better experience in this level of competition we cannot discount the fluidity and cohesion of the Warriors with one of the deadliest snipers in the league. Third in the equation is the way the Warriors have perfected the small ball efficiency from beyond the arc to the inner lanes as evident with the players way of manning the defensive stops possession after possession that even the referees are sometimes caught in awe, even forgotten to whistle some travelings and illegal screens due to the faster and more agile pace of the Golden State Warriors team.

Lastly, both teams are feeling the absence or gaps of important players and coach. Spurs veteran point guard Tony Parker and the Golden State Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr.

What we’ve seen in game 1 particularly the Kawhi Leonard and Zaza Pachulia are  a normal occurrence in this high level of championship game that we must put our focus in both team’s strategies and best combination on the floor in all four quarters of the game. Let’s see how the Spurs will bounce back and hold our breath how the Warriors have figured out the Spurs after a two points victory 48 hours from now!

Je vole avec mes rêves

We all have had a dream. To be someone we think we should be who we are. And in our own little way we daydream that we start to measure our fate and capability to sustain the much desired likeness we wanted to be. This is best illustrated with hand painted art work as professionally and emotionally done by a young artist who see things differently from those seasoned illusionist. As a child is always fascinated with the blue wide skies above him in this same breadth he curiously wanted to surge flying with his own little dream.

Akala Mo Lang Yun !

There is no denying that our traits are tested when it comes to controlling ourselves… somehow as loose as the lanyard of a coward dog. We tend to close our sight towards the obvious reasons and contemplation’s that could be better if we take down our intense approach and think things up before we plunge into the shallowest reasons we could ever had.

Nursing Care from the Heart of the Champ Final Series

We just read the two parts of the three series shared article from one of our avid reader who’s currently based in the middle east and living the dream he once said as an inspiration that now turned into a reality. Away from the tempting world but within the arms of his loved ones. He comes from a clan of medical professionals who, like him have had memorable stay in other parts of the world. Our contributing writer is also a sports buff specializing in basketball… He plays solid defense at 1 or 2 position and skilfully attack the basket at 1 or 2 also, happily married and looking forward to put up a small clinical laboratory in his native country one day.

Third part of the three series, final

It was, Mid day, our head nurse took time to sit with us and discussed or rather counsel us with what has just transpired, we shared one by one our thoughts, emotions and we listened to what each one of us had to say. We were remarkably attached to the patient in different ways, there was good rapport built with the family, and for us nurses it’s likely to witness such an event  of losing a loved one , but this one…. was very special, I saw our unit moved and performed as one, helping each other, even with the minuet details as to the whole workload schedules that gone throughout the duration that saw some gone covering for the rest of the unit while the others were busy with the child, some ran around to get things like a simple stretcher for transport, everyone has had a fair share of contribution. We had all the same question in mind during and after the incident, is there something I could’ve done better for him at that certain moment, yes! there is and I saw that within my  pair eyes, TOTAL and UNWAVERING SUPPORT! as we were all physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially supportive to the patient and the family all throughout the process, from the time the patient was diagnosed, to carrying out the proper treatment regimen for the child, from admission till palliative care, We provided not just total patient care but genuine care, we gave not just medications but compassion, comfort, empathy and love …. these all are just some few humble traits that nurses gave without avarice, that it instill great pride and honor as we are all aware of the limitations our formal educations provided to us.  We have grown the mutual respect that seemed hard to achieve at first glance in culture rich environment. It was indeed the universal language of love and dedication as a nurse that caught all of us during the eleventh hour and no other words could describe my feelings after this experience but simply say….. ….. I am proud to say that I am a part of that unit.  Quinro “Pampi” V. Sioson, RN

Paquito Answer for the Day 32

People are always looking for successful tips as if it were applicable and could produce the same successes just like what and how it did for others. Comparative unsolicited analysis of ones success should be avoided instead. Taking cues and second thoughts are far better could be more adaptability at work rather than doing the exact premises of procedures.  Remember that no one is destined to have the same satisfaction.
