Man always strive to look for alternative solutions, remarkable design ideas, out of supernatural thinking when it comes to science fiction concept and further realization. Straight to  the point, the first reaction I got after reading the article about the proposed Analemma Tower which  is promoted as the first skyscraper that will be built from sky-down as compared to typical and existing skyscrapers from New York to Dubai that was built and anchored from the earths strata and up.  Wow… the child in a pro’s heart must be jumping with excitement and brought back the interest in Architecture and Engineering design and construction processes which has become a cyclical series of predictable points and results leaving the genius derivation of greater vision trapped in the “natural considerations and challenges” that’s present in every tall building project.

Did I say natural considerations and challenges, it seems these will be the very same actual and most conflicting part of the whole process as the tower is envisioned to be a part of an orbiting asteroid “suspended” at approximately 50,000 kilometers as measured for the desert of the middle east and travelling at a speed of greater proportion above maximum speed known to any super car on earth…. and add up if its either “rolling” or revolving just like the Earth. A gazillion bytes of files must be sitting at the office of the proponents as the primary basis of this multi-facet challenging project that geared them to how it is seen and expected to function once becomes a reality. Then man should start embracing the basics and safety of once a special skill in parachuting or gliding high above travelling back to Earth. Imagine a sight of hundreds or thousands of parachutes descending between the blue skies and sand deserts of the middle east.

The cables, anchorage systems and set of stabilizers should withstand the high wind pressures and its mineral presence enough to destroy these system through corrosion. How about the host-asteroid, shall we be seeing workers injecting pile-drives and fasteners insertion to ensure the “fixed” . Ahhh… too many valid ideas that needs absolute answers and methodologies that may lead the once enthusiastic heart of an amateur to become disinterested if they receive dumbfounded response and theories. Again… anything that man shoot out above the Earth comes back to Earth due to its magnified gravity. It’s a push and pull world we have.

If success is seen at the very last detail of the project by its proponents then let’s hope it won’t alter any of the ecological balance and stratospheric environment above us that a colossal damage is also possible if any of its parts come crashing down high density portion of any place in the Earth.

All man’s creativity has its cornerstone and limitation that a realization of these marvelous talents should be exhausted for good promotion of a well being of the humankind. Do we hear any word from the tech companies if they got programs and robotics which are ready to take up the challenging job of operating that tower crane?

Calculated Risk

Good day my dear readers and fellow bloggers, it never stop unto us to always make a choice, to balance the options of being better or best but not the poorest one… though at times there is a chance that it is the lowest choice available we gotta choose for whatever reason we think is deem necessary but not as always we think.

Risk takers knew how to deal this kind of situation that they spent much of their time analyzing the pros and cons of their possible decision but with the same shape, color or figures on a distant sight which is success. People who find enjoyment in doing such complex analysis are way above average individual or professional that possess intricate critical thinking ability. And doing the calculated risk is just one of them. Now that we know who they are from the billion number of people around the globe let’s now look at how it is being applied.

Many if not all decisions made previously by decorated analyst both with small and biggest firms or organizations ranging from politics, military, sports, finance, engineering, science, weather disturbance, agriculture, war, hostage struggle, secret intelligence, commerce and trade, marine transport, power, health and human resource have gone through the process of calculated risk. By way of creating pre-analytical performance picture putting up against the current game they have that produces the needed bricks of walled success, but in most organizations the appetite for success never dwindled and in fact subconsciously makes them starve for more and the search for an overflowing supply of it becomes the pinnacle of the efforts once found or vaulted.

That success has been the most elusive and inconvenient truth of selective decisions and unfounded actions of those high risk takers who defined that the higher stake of risk is, the higher the returns…. not all the time and that even the most experience transcriptionist will find it hard to record and rewrite for a prototyping blue prints of controlled and accurate process that will serve as a perfect source of wealth.

Our Drainage System 

When you hear the word drainage what’ comes into your mind, most of us are easily unaware and neglect the importance it brings to a municipality and the bigger crowded city. The world is consider as biggest free flowing drain system with its oceans leading to rivers, valleys of waters, tributaries and canals and vice versa. It’s a self cleaning system with the aid of weather storms and rains to introduce movement in some stalled bodies of water. It was from the same principle that humankind lifted and adapted the idea to have a free flowing neat and clean easy to maintain system that makes the public places sanitary clean and a great place to live in. That’s the ideal while the opposite is the reality. 

Drainage system helps the waterways flow into connected discharge points and maintain a flood and dry free road and walkways. Imagine a place where there’s no working drainage system installed. Sooner there’ll be propagation of moats and a wet and slippery road and pavement is quite dangerous to step into. Study shows that a proportionate sizes of a certain number of users or census in a given place or community must be consider with a future demand also taken into account to have a working system in place.  In the Third world country’s lack of a working drainage systems produce diseases and unsanitize surroundings with the easy propagation of insects and rodents. It’s a sickness in the place where garbage are left to rot into its own and finding its place in waterways such as rivers doing harmful effect of a clogged and stalled bodies of water. Rainy season adds dilemma through floods and causing  fatal results to the community. 

Here in our country especially the metropolitan Manila you’ll see a lot of diggings and drainage improvement works going on and it’s naturally difficult for them the service provider to finish it in a flash due to lack of planning and innovation to do it. I’ve witnessed the same methodology of replacing a pipe lines of smaller size to a bigger one but with the same methology. Engineering science must’ve improve it as there should be somebody to tell them let’s do it in a way it’s done with a QRMW or Quick-Replacement-Methodology-Work. Putting out the use of backhoe to dig the good pave sidewalk creating a larger cost to restore things like this prolong the schedule that also prolong the agony of the common people. An introduction of a interconnected performance specs concrete box lines where a pipeline made of a material that can be recycle into a bigger one due to a future demand will save money, time and agony. We have the best chemist to formulate a type of pipe that can withstand the melting effect of acid, oil, crude which should have  been handle with utmost care in the first place but the who cares attitude add burden to the existing problem. Our drainage system needs big time improvement if we are serious in addressing floods including the integration of pumping motor stations to pre-identified low-level areas with a road elevation lower than that of a sea level. We keep on improving the system but of the same method and material and it’s an eye opener to the new leadership to tinker and provide advance solutions on a long term and effective way to the benefit of the community. It’s doable and viable. Whoever say it’s not must give his position to others for the love of the country. We are rich in historical culture credible to be a part of our tourism industry but outside the walls of this richness lays the eyesores of dug-earth, huge concrete pipes and heavy equipments  making our roads a good source of accidents and slowing down traffic resulting to a chaotic city we are. 

Again it’s a D2D for us which means Discipline to our Drainage to bring us a cleaner and sanitize surroundings free of clutter and unblocking traffic of human and cars. A clean city reflects the true discipline of everyone of us so don’t forget but make it a habit to participate even your smallest way of putting candy wrappers in your pocket or throw it in a trash bins. Kick those litters away from drain system to ensure it will not add up to clog the system and promote individual discipline at home to assure every Filipino people to be educated about proper sanitation. We don’t need to spend billions for TV commercials to promote it, instead it can be donated to improve the physical facilities and reap the fruits of a better drainage system for the next 50 years. 

I am calling you to participate without a avarice in promoting good sanitation in managing our trash continuously and never let ourselves to be trap in a ningas-cogon culture and convince our neighbors to do the same. The road and the streets belongs to us including the holes under it and nobody will take care of it except us.
