Paquito Answer for the Day 34

Still gaga over the finest and competitive sports happening in the world, from Basketball NBA 2017 Finals to French Open the Roland-Garros Tennis Championship and the US Major Baseball League that  keeps the people busy spending summer hours witnessing the best of the best compete and learn a thing or two from it. These sports momentous events should not escape your attention as it is well promoted, talked-about and discussed all over the open cafe’s, restaurants and pubs and even right inside your very own living room or theater room as you wanted to call it.

This lead us to asked, if sports is about camaraderie why does everyone has to compete ? Why just don’t play and hand over the prestigious accolades to the one or team that are willingly subscribing to give it to the one who played it below par performances? To remind him to spent more hours practicing the sport ? Wouldn’t it be fair to do such gentleman act of sportsmanship to which the sports-competition is greatly tied.

Maybe the reasons are quite obvious, the one who spent most of their hours perfecting their crafts and skills always end up the winner as evident with the grace and poised they  showed during the competition.  As we enter the middle week of the midyear month, let’s ask ourselves how do we compete with the world ? Are we still competitive or we need to take back our feet to the grind and revisit the errors we made and the blunders we take and go out and a lot better, competitive, this time stronger than the last 6 months. You will not regret it, am sure.

Stay competitive and stay on the game and beat the odds of life. – Paquito

Je vole avec mes rêves

We all have had a dream. To be someone we think we should be who we are. And in our own little way we daydream that we start to measure our fate and capability to sustain the much desired likeness we wanted to be. This is best illustrated with hand painted art work as professionally and emotionally done by a young artist who see things differently from those seasoned illusionist. As a child is always fascinated with the blue wide skies above him in this same breadth he curiously wanted to surge flying with his own little dream.

Dreamers like a child …. chase it , weave it and always fly with it. – Paquito

Akala Mo Lang Yun !

There is no denying that our traits are tested when it comes to controlling ourselves… somehow as loose as the lanyard of a coward dog. We tend to close our sight towards the obvious reasons and contemplation’s that could be better if we take down our intense approach and think things up before we plunge into the shallowest reasons we could ever had.

Nursing Care from the Heart of a Champ Second of a 3 Part Series

We break through how special a dedicated nursing professional have their days and night inside the medical facilities and their inner minds.. What could’ve been a simple routine could turn everything into  something more serious that demands more of their efforts and expertise as their main goal from their job is to ensure that patients will have the most convenient care any nurse could provide during those excruciating pain of their life…. read on..,,

Second part of three series

For weeks, we noticed something different with the patient, behavioral changes, from a noisy yet snobbish little child he became an introvert, no more interactions, he chose to be silent most of the time, agitated, irritated, also…  chemically speaking, the patient’s counts were dropping and was on a down-slide, tachycardic, vitals were unstable sometimes on the highside sometimes on the low, and we, as  nurses have this gut feeling about things, we can somehow perceive what’s gonna happen next, and this is it, he’s walking down this path and it went on for weeks. We felt that the mother was preparing herself onto this, she asked to have a room with a bed just to be beside with her child most of the time, including a crib where she can put the baby aside when she’s away or doing something, she thought of that by herself, and as caregivers, one of the nurses took this concern with the head-nurse and appealed the mother’s request, and was granted,

One morning, we were having our regular endorsement, routine rounds for vitals and assessment, we were not expecting what was about to happen, it was around 10 o’clock, the primary nurse went inside the patient’s room to check the pump because it was beeping, a sign that the antibiotics were done infusing, and to start another medication as scheduled and needed for the patient. The patient was noisy, we can hear it from the hall, it’s like he’s back to his usual self, then the mom suddenly woke up and ask the nurse to check the oxygen level, the oxygen saturation of the patient, the primary nurse silently rushed to me, she said ” It’s his time, the child”, I was in shock, frozen on my seat for the longest time I’ve ever had in my life , we told the physician, and we decided to go inside the room and have a look, there he was, laying on his side, gasping for air with his nasal canula on, looking straight at you with his eyes, struggling, although silent and calm as if he is saving his energy to fight!

I kept asking myself what can I do, no code patient, then it happened, no more physical movement, then we took the ECG machine to confirm, as we were putting the electrodes the mother kept saying, “kalas”, “mut”, it’s already done, he’s already dead… teary eyed, weary, and you can see the agony on her eyes. But the mom was a fighter, the mom is really a strong person, no bursting out of emotions, as she closed her son’s eyes, as she fixed her son’s lying position, and we told her “keep talking, he can still hear you”, then she broke out in tears as she whisper to the child’s ear, saying I-love-you and everything. Then the mom prepared to have his angel cleaned, they gave a bath, and did postmortem care and prepared for transport to the main hospital’s morgue, As they were passing through the halls of the hospital, the twin sister is in sight inside a trolley, she had a look on her brother, wrapped with white cloth, she gasp for air, trying to reach out then broke out in tears, we can feel the connection between the two and it was really a heartbreaking moment.

Can’t help but cried for we are just an instrument with limited participation. . – Paquito

Saying Sincere Sorry – Chola

Committed mistakes ?, unable to fulfill promises, better be honest than sorry for the second time as our credibility is at stake… mile high.

We all experienced failures, distress and rejection… Was it enough for you to give up ? Or it is the right time for you to consider things you’ve been taking for granted… As Chola said, stand up and continue the journey for good.

Perching on Others

Just a thought that came so fast that i got to write and share for all of you, …We all do it and unaware we did ! In a flash, we were adamant to exclude ourselves to silly things and wrongdoings but sometimes we bit the bullet and turned blind eyes to what has been going on like an innocent and perfect human being.

Pretending we knew something but not, will send a really wrong notions that even you is not  well with it come payback time. Don’t try to perch on some unstable ground that your own words might lead to an insurmountable collapse unexpectedly.

Build your ground and let them appreciate things on their own. – Paquito
